| End of Summer Bash For The Riv Crew and the Honorary Riv Kids |
[06 Aug 2005|09:46pm] |
As many of you may know, Tim, Kaitlyn, and myself have been planning a big trip for the end of August to mark the end of this dreadfully long summer and the beginning of the fall semester. Originally, Tim had the idea of a Six Flags trip. We would all hang out on Friday, then come back down and spent the night in Mass., and then head to the parks for Saturday and Sunday. This was a very good plan. Kudos to Tim.
However, the more Kaitlyn and I began trying to recruit people and do the planning, the more we realized that, though an excellent idea in theory, this trip did not play out too well in reality (much like communism! But I digress). However, we still wanted to do an end-of-the-summer bash, so instead, here’s the new plan:
THE DATE: Saturday, August 27th, 2005 (although this is flexible)
THE NEW DESTINATION: Water Country
For those of you who are unaware, Water Country is a really huge water park with a lot of cool rides and attractions. We figure it works out well, because it’s a) cheaper than the proposed Six Flags trip, b) only requires one day’s time, and c) we would all still get to hang out with each other and relax before having to go back to school.
THE COST: So far, Kaitlyn and I have brain stormed a list of 25 people. Water Country has a special discount for groups of 25 or more. So, IF everyone on our list can go, the cost would be $17/ticket. However, if not, than the cost will be $30/ticket.
THE PLAN: Water Country is open from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Our plan was to go there for the entire day, and just chill and relax and have fun. Afterwards, we could go out for dinner and possibly something else (depending on money, time, etc.).
We really think this could be a great way to get everyone together to do something before returning to school. We’re giving you a full 3 weeks notice so that everyone can arrange their schedules around it.
Now, because this is an important message, I am posting it in LiveJournal, MySpace, and e-mailing it to everyone who I have e-mail addresses for. Please get back to me ASAP, whether you can go or not, so that Kaitlyn and I can arrange everything.
( The 25 Who Made the Cut! lol )
Thanks everyone! I hope we can pull this off without a hitch!
